The Plinth Weekly · A sitting
Sit for Your Cover
One photograph, and the magnate on the cover is you.
You keep your own face, exactly. On Cover, 1889 the rest is Plinth’s joke: a belly drawn as a perfect circle in a plum waistcoat, hands twice the size of your head, a stovepipe and an applauding crowd. Your caption runs underneath. A sitting is numbered outside the twenty-five: C-1, C-2 and on.
We paint adults only, one sitter per cover, and never a public figure, a uniform or a badge. The photograph is read, painted from and thrown away; we never store it (privacy).
