One cookie, and what it does

Robber Baron sets one cookie, rb_sittings, the first time you open the sitting page. It holds a single number, how many of your four free sittings you have used, signed by our server so it cannot be edited. Without it, anyone could sit for free without end, and every sitting is a paid call to the engine that paints it. It lasts a year, carries nothing about you, and is read only by this site.

A second name, rb_session, is reserved for a signed-in session. The site has no sign-in yet, so it is never set.

What we do not set

No analytics, no advertising pixels, no social widgets and no third-party cookies of any kind. Because nothing here tracks you, there is no consent banner to click through: the one cookie we set is strictly necessary for the free sittings to work, and the law asks for consent only for the kind we do not use. Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout page, under its own policy, once you choose to pay.

Clearing it

Clear this site’s cookies in your browser at any time. The next visit to the sitting page sets the count again, and it does not give back sittings already used.
